Divemaster Internship Positions available:

Your SCUBA diving internship is having you trained at a PADI 5 Star IDC dive shop or resort in the Caribbean’s best Divemaster Internship program, on the island of Cozumel Mexico. While training towards becoming a PADI Pro Divemaster, you will learn the daily operations of how the dive industry works with a focus in adventure and fun in a resort or dive shop atmosphere. You will learn about the local marine life, customer service, the role of a PADI Pro Divemaster and understand the necessity for marine conservation and environmental education on Cozumel.

Many places in the world have great diving but no teaching and many places great teaching conditions with just average diving but Cozumel has the best of both. We have great diving and great teaching facilities. We have the fantastic warm, clear blue waters with wrecks, walls, swim through, deep diving and tons of marine life as well as the facilities and Instructors to guide you to being a great Divemaster.

In over 20 years of diving and working in 8 different countries and diving hundreds of dive sites and teaching over 2200 students our Platinum Course Director, Mike Sobel has not found a better place to do Divemaster training.

While the Divemaster course has certain requirements needing to be fulfilled to accomplish the rating of a PADI Pro Divemaster we go beyond these minimums because Cozumel has the facilities and opportunities to teach you so much more. Here are just a few things you will learn in your Divemaster Internship; how to fill tanks at our own private fill station, lift bag use, Deep dives, Drift dives, Navigation dives, equipment repair, hang and sling tank assembly and usage, spear fishing, night dives, wreck dives, instructor assistance and dive guide leading experience that is unmatched anywhere by Divemasters who have been working in the industry for 15 plus years.

No one can or will give you this much education and experience at such a low price in one great location. This free experience and knowledge is priceless. All of our Interns will actually get the opportunity to help lead real divers on paid fun dives on holiday here in Cozumel as well as assist on real Discover Scuba Diving experiences, help instructors on Open Water, Advanced and Rescue courses and aid in the teaching of their fellow interns.

We believe that in order to become a PADI Pro Divemaster you must be exposed to as many experiences available and have the ability to do hands on training in becoming a great Divemaster. We give you that at Divemaster Internships in Cozumel.

Minimum – 1 month (4 weeks)

To enter the internship as an Open Water Diver or non diver an 8 week internship is recommended. This will enable you to attain the professional rating of a PADI Pro Divemaster or Assistant Instructor.

If you enter the program as an Advanced Open Water Diver, 6 weeks are recommended to complete your PADI Pro Divemaster or Assistant Instructor internship.

For Certified Rescue divers, 4 weeks is enough time to reach your goal as a PADI Pro Divemaster. Many people are able to finish the course work sooner however, rushing through the course and not gaining work experience and accumulating as many dives as possible takes away the fun (the most important part of the internship).

If you have been certified with an agency other than PADI don’t worry, we can transfer your current certification level to a comparable PADI diving level with no additional time or charges.

Your accommodations are included in the Divemaster internship and Instructor program. You will stay in a modern four bedroom brick home located in the heart of the city, shared with other interns. Food for breakfast, lunch and dinner can be bought at nearby supermarkets and cooked in the kitchen at the house. You are walking distance from supermarkets, restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues.

Additional nights to accommodate your travel plans, with in reason, are free of charge. If you plan on arriving sooner or staying longer than the internship a fee of $ 15 a night will be added to your total program fees. (*Provided space is available)

No scuba diving certification is required however, an Open Water or entry level certification is recommended. It is a good idea if you are in good physical shape and have a friendly and fun loving personality. Respect for nature and being a water lover of at least 20 years of age is important as well.
